When my kids were younger I was the mom assigned to bring the treat classroom treat bags. For every occasion. If I didn’t volunteer, the room mom would call me up and ask, “Pam, are you bringing the treat bags?” Perhaps this happens to you too. The problem with being in charge of treat bags is they have to “look cute.” That can pose a problem. Who has the time to make 30 (or more, if you have more than one child in the school) “cute” treat bags? Fear not. I have some simple solutions. Here are 3 Easy Valentine’s Day Treat Bag Ideas.
1. Easy Owl Treat Bags – I started with the Foam Valentine Owl Ornament Craft Kit. Each kit makes 12 owls. Because these are DIY Owls, they are a lot of fun for the kids to help make. It took us about fifteen minutes to make thetwelve owls. I taped the Owl Valentine’s Day cards to treat bags so they could be easily removed, but they can also be glued to the bag. I filled the bags with an assortment of Nerds Candy (because they are gluten-free and dairy-free) and tied the top with heart curling ribbon. These are adorable for preschoolers to early elementary age. Because there are small foam parts that could be removable, don’t use them with toddlers.
2. Simple Valentine’s Day Milk Bottle Craft– For older kids or any adults you’d like to treat, this Valentine’s Milk Glass Bottle treat is adorable. I filled ours with miniature Kit Kat bars, Valentine’s Day Sweet Tarts, and Conversation Hearts. These could be filled with anything; cocoa mix, a DIY cookie mix, or small treats. To make the milk bottles, simply attach self-adhesive foam hearts in different sizes and colors to the front of the milk bottle. I placed three small or medium-sized hearts per jar and two large ones. I covered the rim of the lid with Valentine’s Day themed Washi tape. These come together quickly. I was able to put together a dozen of these in around fifteen minutes.
3. Owl Be There For You Gift Box- Want to make a care package or gift box for that someone special? (Trust me, college students love to receive boxes filled with snacks.) I started with an Unfinished Wood Slat Crate. I sprayed it with pastel pink paint to give it a bit of Valentine’s Day feel. After it was dry, I glued Foam Valentine Owl Ornaments onto the sides. I used two owls on the front and the back, along with one owl on each end. Depending on how many items are added to the crate, it may need tissue paper or shredded paper added to the bottom to allow the goodies to appear over the sides. I plan to add an assortment of Valentine’s Day candy and goodies to our crate. This also makes a cute travel crate for all the classroom goody bags. It could easily be adapted to make a Crate Gift Box for any holiday or occasion.
I was excited by how cute, but easy to make, these projects were. I made all of them in less than an hour! What are your favorite easy treat bag projects?

Cute ideas and they’re easy enough that the kids can help. Haven’t decided what I’m doing this year. My youngest son suggested a giraffe theme but I don’t know yet. I may be able to incorporate these ideas with a giraffe theme. Perhaps.
