Five of the Best: Relaxing 10 Hour Sleep Sounds (2024)

Do not listen while driving or operating machinery…

Relaxing white noise and soothing songs for sleep have been helping people fall into a deep peaceful slumber for many years. Relaxation CDs were once a top seller and can still occasionally be found in beauty spas that haven’t yet caught up with modern technology. Nowadays, YouTube holds a vast collection of gentle tunes and calming background noise that will help you sleep, study or soothe a colicky infant.

Today we’re taking a virtual journey to this far distant corner of the internet. We’re leaving the noise and distractions of daily vlogs and TikTok challenges behind. Join us as we explore some of the most popular relaxing sleep hours (10 hour edition).

Rainforest Rain Sounds for Sleeping or Studying

We start with our current personal favourite. There’s something about the noise of jungle rain that provides a soothing ambience, making it ideal white noise for sleeping or studying. In this video, viewers can relax and immerse themselves in 10 hours of rain sounds from a lush forest in the tropics.

We like to think that listening to rainforest rain sounds before we go to sleep will help us go on epic jungle adventures in our sleep – but we haven’t had any memorable nature dreams yet. We’ll keep you posted.

Epic Thunder and Rain – Rainstorm Sounds For Relaxing, Focus or Sleep

This is our most popular video in the list. “Up here in the mountains, this thunderstorm just got real”, the video description reads. A white noise sound like rain and thunder can effectively block out any distracting noise while you try to fall asleep. The thunder rumbles across the jagged landscape and rain pelts down on the cabin porch in a mesmerising even rhythm. It’s nature’s sonic symphony.

We’re going to skip over the fact that a 10 hour thunderstorm would likely break several records in our part of the world and likely be a cause for concern – so let’s just enjoy the relaxing sounds. It’s surprisingly calming to listen to a rain storm while inside the warmth of a home, school or office, while envisaging heavy rain outside. We don’t know what it is but rainy weather truly provides a great sleep noise and relaxing study sound. 80 million viewers can’t all be wrong.

8 Hours of Relaxing Sleep Music

Our first musical number on the list. Admittedly this video is only 8 hours long but for the average adults sleep schedule that should just about cover it. In 8 Hours of Relaxing Sleep Music, soft piano music plays over trickling water sounds in a soothing combination with a subtle beauty to it. The music is produced to make you fall asleep fast, according to the video description. We’re not going to argue with that.

This particular video was produced by Peder B. Helland, composer from Norway who says he started the channel with a simple vision: “to create a place that you can visit whenever you want to sit down and relax”. He explains on his channel that he creates music for sleeping, studying and doing yoga. “I love to compose music and I put a lot of work into it. Every single day i am completely astonished by all your warm support and it really inspires me to work even harder on my music”, he explains. We salute you Peder.

Coral Reef Aquarium Collection – 12 Hours Best Relax Music

If soothing audio isn’t enough to help you relax, in Coral Reef Aquarium Collection viewers also have the treat of getting a close-up look into some tropical fish aquariums. From small brightly coloured fish to swaying seaweed, the visuals in this video support the relaxing music that accompanies it. Our favourite scene and arguably the largest tank in the video starts at around 6 hours in.

This video isn’t only suitable for helping humans relax. Playing relaxing music and stimulating visuals is often a tactic that pet owners use to subdue their companion animals. The comments on this video certainly suggest this, although it seems the video appeals to more than just dogs and cats that most people would think of. “I’m with my fish now and she loves this video”, one user commented. “My bearded dragon likes watching this”, said another.

Sleep and Relaxation Nature Sounds – Crickets Summer Night

The last video on our list is a bit of a wildcard. Crickets at night for 10 hours might be a commonly heard sound to readers in some parts of the world. However for those who grew up in cities or parts of the world where crickets aren’t as common, this video is a peaceful opportunity to escape the real world and fall asleep somewhere more exciting. In this video, we’re spoiled with 10 hours of peaceful recording from a summer night in Georgia, according to the video description.

It also says that crickets are the most typical and soothing sounds of the forest in summer. Some readers might not be aware that crickets actually chirp with their wings, as opposed to their legs, which is a common misconception. The scientific name for this sound is stridulation and is usually only made by male crickets, however some females do it as well. As a male cricket rubs its wings together to create the sound, it also holds them up and opens them, so the wing membranes can act as acoustic sails. Falling asleep yet? We thought you might be. You’re welcome.

So there we have it. If we’ve done our job correctly, nobody will be reading this as you will be fast asleep. So we’ll just go back and restart one of the videos so we can join you in the land of nod. Goodnight.
