    In a post shared to X, Shirley Reynolds said she was 'so proud.'

    "Shaun is passionate about Telford and will be an amazing MP. Thank you Telford for voting for change," she wrote.

    The Wrekin Conservative Association has expressed its gratitude, external to those who voted for the Wrekin's MP-elect, Mark Pritchard.

    Mr Pritchard was re-elected in the constituency, and has been its MP since 2005.

    "Thank you to the thousands of people who lent Mark their vote, the many volunteers who supported Mark's campaign and to the hard working staff at Telford and Wrekin Council who ran an incredibly well-organised and efficient count," it said on Facebook.

    Healthcare is top priority for Helen Morgan in North Shropshire.

    "We have a real resourcing issue here, and we've heard some really upsetting stories from people throughout the campaign," she said.

    "I'd very much like to be focused on that as a first thing as the MP for North Shropshire."

    Building a strong team and listening to constituents is first on the agenda for new South Shropshire MP, Stuart Anderson.

    "I want to put together a plan that ensures I can get across as much of the constituency as effectively as possible, while responding to all the different issues that people have raised with me over the last year," he said.

    He also believes the Conservative party needs to be 'rebuilt.'

    "I heard time and time again on doorsteps, 'Why are you still fighting?' and that's what we need to stop. Our survival will depend on how we unite and come together."

    The night brought three new MPs to Shropshire - Shaun Davies in Telford and Julia Buckley in Shrewsbury for Labour, while Conservative Stuart Anderson won South Shropshire.

    The two winning incumbents were Mark Pritchard in The Wrekin and Helen Morgan in North Shropshire.

    Defeated Shrewsbury MP Daniel Kawczynski told BBC Radio Shropshire his greatest achievements were helping to create the town centre redevelopment, fighting for the reconfiguration of Shropshire's hospitals, a promise of investment in the North West Relief Road and work to alleviate flooding.

    Having initially refused an interview as the BBC was "biased and not a particularly professional body", Mr Kawczynski spoke as he left Shrewsbury Sports Village where the count was held.

    He said he planned to remain in Shrewsbury after his defeat to Labour's Julia Buckley, who took the seat with a majority of 11,000.

    The former MP had represented the town since 2005.

    Looking ahead, Telford's MP-elect, Labour's Shaun Davies, has acknowledged the party has a lot of work to do.

    "The scale of the task is enormous, there is so much to get onwith," he said.

    "Our public services are not working. We've got the highesttax burden in 70 years, and the highest national debt for a very very longtime, there is so much to do."

    "But we’ve got to get our head down, our sleeves rolled up,and get on with the work, and show and demonstrate that change is not just aword."

    "Change is a thing that you vote for, and when you vote for it, you getit."

    Labour's Julia Buckley, the new MP for Shrewsbury, got straight to the point with her priorities for the town.

    "Flooding, sewage, buses," she said.

    "And then NHS, getting our GP surgeries open at the weekends and evenings, so we can help people get sorted out."

    "It's a long list, there's lots to sort out in Shrewsbury."

    Mark Pritchard has urged the Conservative Party "not to rush to any judgements" after a terrible night for the Tories in the general election.

    In The Wrekin, Mr Pritchard's majority dropped to about 900 ahead of the Labour candidate.

    He said it was time for his party to look at why they lost. "It will be a time for the Conservative Party to go away, reflect on the result, not to rush to any judgements, to really pause and think how we can reconnect with a lot of Conservative votes," he added.

    Stuart Anderson has won for the Conservatives in South Shropshire, the renamed Ludlow seat.

    In his victory speech, he honoured the former MP, Philip Dunne.

    "I want to thank the people of South Shropshire for believing in me, trusting me," he said.

    "I have got your message, I get you've not been happy with things, but you're giving me a chance."

    "We're together going to embark on a plan to see that South Shropshire still remains the best place in the country to live. Thank you."

    Liberal Democrat Helen Morgan has given her victory speech, after retaining her seat in North Shropshire.

    "Most of all, thank you to the people here in North Shropshire. From Woore to Weston Rhyn, Pant to Prees, and in our beautiful towns of Oswestry, Ellesmere, Wem, Whitchurch, and Market Drayton," she said.

    "It's been the honour of a lifetime to represent our area for the last two and-a-half years."

    "I was elected in the wake of political scandal, and the sense that in North Shropshire we had been taken for granted. I have worked as hard as I can to repay the trust placed in me, and ensure that we are taken for granted no longer."
